CUPROTYPE WORKSHOP
CUPROTYPE WORKSHOP
JANUARY 24-25, 2026
Instructor: Anne Eder
This weekend workshop explores the Cuprotype process, a nineteenth-century method that has recently reemerged and uses copper salts to make photographic prints. Ferric ammonium citrate, the same light trigger used in cyanotype is the catalyst. Similar in ease of use to cyanotype, Cuprotype has a better tonal range, and through chemical toning an expanded color palette can be achieved, ranging from buttery golden tones to pinks, coppers, and deep purples.
Two full days of instruction and all supplies are included. There will be a one-hour lunch break each day. BYO or head over to Nibbana Café right here on the property for delicious food and beverages.
The workshop takes place in Anne’s darkroom at Western Avenue Arts, Lowell, MA.
