Delaware Art Museum Dream Streets Preview Event

The preview event on Friday June 26th was attended by over 600 guests and emotions ran high as exhibiting artists returned to Wilmington from all over the country. The excitement of the times was reflected in the abundance of work featured, and was beautifully curated by Margaret Winslow.

On a personal note, while I was thrilled to be included and gratified by the validation, what really made my heart full was to see Tom Watkins get the recognition and credit he deserved for being the incredible force of energy that drove the art scene at that time. If he hadn't dragged me into it kicking and screaming I might never have shown my work. He has been my long time friend and mentor and I have learned so much from him. Pictured here drawing me an impromptu sketch at the train station after the opening.
